better than brita: water filters with no plastic parts

I have been using plastic water filters for many years. Who wouldn\'t?
It reduces the purchase of bottled water, which turns out to be almost the same as unfiltered tap water.
Also, bottled water is bad for the environment and your wallet.
Only a few pennies of water a day is actually purified, not just saying it is purified? That\'s a no-brainer.
Recently, however, I have started to worry that plastic will dissolve chemicals into my water, especially BPA and estrogen-like hormones.
It doesn\'t make sense to stop buying bottled water just to consume the water that has been sitting in plastic cans with plastic filters.
I don\'t like the sour taste of DIY seaweed and milk calcium water bubble water (
Not that this is a viable storage solution).
Also, I am interested in finding more ways to reduce the amount of garbage I produce.
While there is a way to reuse, upgrade, and recycle the Brita filter, let\'s be honest-
Most of them were eventually thrown into the trash.
Fortunately, there are many cheaper ways to purify the water at home than the British.

For those of us who love home, fireplace and working fridge, here are a few great alternatives to the Brita water filter you should try. 1.
This is my personal favorite water purification technology because it is simple, reasonably priced, biodegradable and looks beautiful.
Bichotan charcoal is essentially the Mother Nature version of the Brita filter.
A blackened carbon rod made of branches, usually oak, binchotan absorbs bacteria, absorbs smells, and releases minerals into the water.
These sticks last up to three months, can be cooked in water for ten minutes, and then used for a few more months.

You need to rinse the charcoal and cook it in the water for at least ten minutes so you can go.
Charcoal usually takes at least an hour to purify the water it is in.
I generally do not measure, but there is news that a branch will purify about a liter of water.
The first two or three pots of water where the charcoal is located will have clear charcoal-
But I usually use these batches to water plants or yards.
After that, you can\'t taste anything but pure and clean water.
The Wall Street Journal even did a taste test!
I like to buy a few sticks at a time and put them in a good place --
Glass bottles.
It\'s almost like a little bit of art on the fridge or on the dining table.
Once done, bury them in the yard, or use the favorite plant as a fertilizer, or balance the pH of the soil.
You can also put used charcoal in your refrigerator or shoes to absorb the smell. 2.
