- Preparation work: Check the equipment model, connection method (flange/thread/welding), gaskets, valves, and tools; wear necessary protective equipment, confirm the shutdown, drain the pipeline, release pressure, and remove hazardous media.
- Installation location: It is usually installed at the inlet of the equipment or on the return side of the circulation system, facilitating the capture of ferromagnetic impurities and ease of cleaning. It is preferable to choose a location with maintenance space and close to the blowdown/discharge valve.
- Direction and orientation: Follow the flow direction (arrow) indicated by the manufacturer. It is commonly installed vertically (with the magnetic rod/core vertical) and equipped with a drain valve at the bottom, facilitating sedimentation and discharge of impurities.
- Pipe interface: Install flange/threaded or welded connections according to the type of interface. When connecting with flanges, place the gasket properly and tighten the bolts evenly and symmetrically; use appropriate sealing materials for threads; be careful not to damage the inner surface coating or magnet during welding.
- Valves and bypasses: It is recommended to install globe valves or ball valves at both the inlet and outlet ends, and to configure bypass/bypass valves to facilitate maintenance without interrupting the system or for flushing.
- Fixing and Supporting: Ensure that the filter is adequately supported to prevent pipeline stress from being transmitted to the equipment flange. Large equipment requires additional supports or lifting for fixation.
- Grounding and corrosion prevention: The metal casing of the equipment and pipelines should be well grounded; external protection or insulation should be considered based on the on-site environment.
- Initial startup and pressure test: After installation, conduct a pressure test and leakage inspection according to the manufacturer's requirements to confirm that there are no leaks and the valves are operating normally.
- Identification and recording: Mark the flow direction, model, and installation/debugging date on the equipment, and record the installation parameters and pressure test results.
- Daily maintenance instructions: Regularly shut down the machine, open the drain valve, or disassemble the magnetic core to clean the captured iron chips; follow the cleaning cycle and method recommended by the manufacturer, and ensure that the installation location is convenient for disassembly and maintenance.
- Precautions: Strictly follow the manufacturer's installation manual and safety regulations; prioritize safety isolation and protection for systems containing hazardous media; if necessary, have qualified personnel for pipelines/pressure vessels carry out the construction.
The above are general points. For specific installation details (dimensions, torque, sealing materials, pressure testing requirements, etc.), please refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the equipment you purchased.
